The Swiss National Library and the Association Swiss Poster Collection
This resource provided the general template for the classification of the different periods, designers, and works. Additionally, it has a very robust collection with pictures of different posters and information about them.

Poster House – The Swiss Grid
This exhibition can be accessed through its main website (the format is a little different from a regular one), but there is also a PDF Exhibition Catalogue about it available for download. It focuses on the International Style, but it has a good number of pictures and contextual information about Swiss design. In addition, the main website has a great explanation and comparison between Basel, Zürich, and their associated designers.

Carnegie Mellon University – The Swiss Poster Collection
Carnegie Mellon, much like Virginia Tech, has an extensive collection of Swiss posters. Another similarity is that their collection was donated by Ruedi Rüegg, a famous Swiss designer included in this network visualization.

Museum of Design Zürich – Archive of the Zürich University of the Arts – emuseum
This is the Zürich University of the Arts online database for their collection. They have a wide array of posters and art objects, all of which tend to have basic information about them, like their place of origin, technique, and material. Additionally, the images included for each item are incredibly high-quality.

Plakat Sammlung Schule für Gestaltung Basel
This is Basel’s Schule für Gestaltung online collection. It includes a good number of posters along with high-quality pictures and basic information about them.

Swiss Graphic Design Foundation
This resource includes short biographies of Swiss designers and was very useful when working on this website.

Cooper Hewitt
Cooper Hewitt has a good number of Swiss posters in their collection, as well as posters that are held by the Smithsonian.

Victoria & Albert is another museum with a good number of Swiss and non-Swiss posters in their collection, so they can be a very useful resource to check.

This is another resource where one can find biographical and professional information about designers from all over the world.

Smithsonian Institution
The Smithsonian has a good amount of very famous Swiss posters, and sometimes the object entries include brief biographical or professional descriptions surrounding their creation and design.

Wikimedia Commons
This is a good resource to find images in the Public Domain or with a CC-3 or CC-4 license, which means they are free to be reused with attribution.

This website and network visualization do not own the rights to any of the works displayed here. The reproduction of the poster images throughout the site and in the network visualization is possible because this is an educational resource with no commercial purposes. However, all the images featured were attributed accordingly.
In addition to that, a good number of pictures came from Wikimedia Commons, which hosts many Public Domain, CC3, and CC4 works, which can be reused. As for the images that came from the Smithsonian or other online collections, they were utilized through Virginia Tech’s Fair Use regulations and a Fair Use Evaluator tool.
Prior to that, effort to contact archives such as the Swiss National Library, Basel’s Schule für Gestaltung, Carnegie-Mellon, and Zürich’s online collection were made in advance. Not all the inquiries were answered, but the ones that were, allowed for Fair Use with attribution.
